Sauteing Brussel Sprouts

by Amy Stafford on April 14, 2012

Since Jim loves Brussel Sprouts I usually make him a bowl once a week.

He likes them sautéed with a sprinkle of Parmesan

  • 1 cup brussels sprout, ends trimmed and cut in half
  • 2 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of butter
  • 2 Tablespoon Parmesan cheese, finely grated

Prepare Sprouts and place in bowl with oil to coat.

Heat butter and 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat add sprouts.

Once butter is melted add Sprouts and increase heat if you do not hear sizzle.

Cook 5-6 minutes and then flip.  Cook an additional 5-6 minutes.

You want them to be toasted on both sides.

Top with cheese.  You can serve room temperature or warm.

My husband (who is the brussels sprout fan) says these are the best way to eat them!
