Toad Lily Photo provided by A Healthy Life For Me

Toad Lily-These flowers got their common name assigned to them because of the spots that cover their blooms, resembling the spots on a toad.  Someone had an odd sense of humor, because when most people imagine a toad it is not an image of beauty, but when you think of the Toad Lily, images of beauty follow.

I love flowers! Thanks for posting.

On an episode of The Chew, Michael Symon showed everyone how to prepare flowers for planting by putting a bulb in a vase filled with decorative rocks or stones. This way you don’t have to wait until spring and when it arrives, you can plant the flower. :)
