Chocolate Coconut Banana Superfood Smoothie Recipe is a mega powerful healthy smoothie perfect for after workout.
This Chocolate Coconut Banana Superfood Smoothie is super simple to pull together, with limited ingredients but packs a huge nutritional punch (see last photo).
Muscles need protein for recovery and growth, and the best time to deliver protein appears to be right after exercise. Providing high-quality protein after exercise gives your muscles the fuel and the building blocks needed for both repair and for growth. I usually run an errand or two after my workout, and by the time I make it home I am starving. I like to make a shake before I leave the house with a bit more ice to help keep it cool and keep it in the car or take it into the gym with me (if it is hot outside) and drink it while I am driving around after my workout. This fills me up, gives my body what it needs to recover and gives me a few hours to hold off till lunch.
As usual I used Silk Coconut-Almond Unsweetened Milk because I prefer the taste, but if you like Coconut Milk or Almond Milk you can substitute them instead. Just make sure you are drinking the unsweetened varieties.
Please don’t use regular milk here, you really want to switch over to Coconut or Almond or a blend. It is a delicious way to start adding more plants to your diet and its gluten, dairy free and GMO free. Your digestion system will run much better if you start to cut regular milk out of your diet and start the transfer over to plant based milk. It really is just a cleaner way to drink your milk and still a great source of Vitamin D.
If you already use Silk or are thinking of the transfer over, Silk is offering a coupon right now, hop over to their website and grab the coupon and give their product a try. I recommend the Coconut-Almond Unsweetened Milk, it has the most “milk” like consistency and taste. Click (here) for the link to get the coupon off any Silk half gallon product.
Also, I used a Low Carb Isopure Whey protein. I prefer Whey over Soy and like the lower carb benefits.
