I was first introduced to this delicious cocktail as I celebrated 2010 New Year in New York with my wonderful husband and our friends Janet and Joe. We went to a restaurant called Abe & Arthurs for our New Years dinner and Janet and I ended 2009 off right drinking French 75’s. I remember wishing everyone a Happy New Year, but not much after that….
Let me just say this is a very dangerous drink!
- 1 ounce gin
- 1 tablespoon of simple syrup
- 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
- Dry champagne
- Lemon twist to garnish
Combine gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until well chilled and strain into a glass. Top with Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist to serve.
