I picked up a bottle of peach vodka and I have to admit I bought it because the color on the bottle was so beautiful and with the abundance of Southern Peaches for sale right now, the idea of a Peach Martini sounded mighty fine. I originally thought that the vodka was the color of peaches, but under further investigation I was duped because the bottle is colored to look like the color of peaches. I wanted the color of the martini to be a peach color, so I had to add something to give it that shade, and I got that by adding a splash of Chambord.
I chose to add the cherry because that was what I had on hand, but a raspberry would look just as beautiful floating.
Just a little tidbit of information, the term, “you’re a real peach” originated from the tradition of giving a peach to the friend you liked.
So my version of… “you’re a real peach” from me to you.
