What is a Korean Rice Bowl?

Simple Ingredients

You'll only need a few ingredients to make this easy recipe, so let's round them up and get started!

Ground the Sesame

Process the sesame seeds, fleur de sel, and chile powder until half of the sesame seeds are finely ground.

Make the Marinade

Mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, sugar, sake, and garlic in a zip-top bag.

Marinate the Steak

Cut the steak into ⅛ inch-thick slices and drop them into the bag. Shake to coat and then let marinate.

Cook the Rice

Boil rice and water in medium saucepan. Then lower the heat, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.

Sauté the Asparagus

Toss asparagus with sesame oil, and sauté until crisp-tender. Then set aside and sprinkle with salt.

Cook the Steak

Add the steak to the griddle and grill it until it is just browned, about one minute per side.

Cook the Eggs

Add a few eggs to the griddle and cook them sunny-side-up.

Enjoy!

Divide the warm rice between the bowls, and then top with beef, asparagus, a fried egg (or two), and a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
