Ways to Decrease Inflammation in your Body

4 Janby Amy0

It is time to take your health serious.  Start with decreasing the inflammation in your body so you feel good. When you feel good it is easier to reach your goals and live a happy, positive, healthy life.

A Few Ways to Decrease Inflammation in your body.

When you’re living with chronic inflammation, it can eventually start damaging healthy cells, tissues, and organs. Over time, this can lead to DNA damage, tissue death, and internal scarring. These are linked to the development of several diseases and premature aging. Here are a few ways to decrease inflammation in your body.

3 biggest drivers of chronic inflammation are all lifestyle factors.

  • Gut Health
  • Diet
  • Chronic Stress

Real, whole, nutrient and phytonutrient-rich food turns off inflammation, increases antioxidant systems, balances hormones and brain chemistry, boosts detoxification, increases energy, optimizes your microbiome, and turns on disease-preventing, health-promoting genes.

A Few Foods to Improve Gut Health

These are a few foods to help you improve your gut health.

  • Green Vegetables such as Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Spinach
  • Beans and Lentils
  • Kimchi, Kombucha, Kefir
  • Apples with the skin
  • Berries
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Microgreens

Foods to avoid

  • Sugar and High-Fructose Syrup (read your labels)
  • Vegetable and Seed Oils
  • Refined Carbohydrates
  • Fried Foods
  • Processed Foods
  • Excessive Alcohol

These foods drive up chronic inflammation that can lead to disease. Such as heart disease, “leaky gut”, diabetes, and obesity,

Chronic Stress can lead to Cardiovascular Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Depression,

Most of us know that things such as eating well, getting quality sleep, exercise, and mediation are all effective ways to reduce and manage stress. Don’t forget time spent with friends, learning a new activity, reading a book, volunteering to help someone less fortunate or a walk in the woods go a long way for us to be happy and fulfilled to reduce stress.

Ways to Lower Your Stress

  • A Walk in Nature
  • Journal
  • Turn off Electronics after Dinner
  • Meditate
  • Time with Friends
  • Volunteer
  • Read a Book
  • Exercise

A walk through a park always makes me feel calmer.  Coffee with friends always makes me feel happier.  Meditating in the morning sitting in the sun, refills my soul.  All of these things help me to work on lowering my stress level. Everyone needs a place, or a way that fills them up with positive feelings or lets them let go of negative feelings.

Tending to your stress levels, affects your gut, your sleep and your longevity. Make the time and de-stress everyday!  It only takes a few minutes.
