Set Realistic Fitness Goals

14 Octby Amy0

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Clif Bar & Company for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Part of reaching any goal is making sure that your goals are attainable.  Set Realistic Fitness Goals by making sure your goals are goals you know you will succeed at achieving.

While I think everyone would agree that having goals is admirable not to mention inspiring, you should take a calculated approach when setting fitness goals.  I am a firm believer in setting your goals lower, goals that you know you can achieve and maybe exceed.

What I mean by this, is how many times have you set a huge goal, only to feel overwhelmed and feel like there is no way you can succeed, so you quit or give up weeks or days later? The truth is that even when people have the best of intentions and the willpower to set out and do something grand, without a plan and a smart goal, they stumble, and are more than likely fail.

So, sit down write your goals, but make sure that they are short term {a week} and 100% attainable.  Then your second week set your goals a little higher.  Maybe 95% attainable.  Once you reach those, continue with this approach.

Even though your goals will increase, so will your confidence.  You will believe that you can attain goals that seemed too high when you started.

To help you reach your goals I wanted to share these easy everyday workout and nutrition tips from the sports nutrition expert, Bob Seebohar.

Bob is a competitive athlete for more than 30 years and is one of the top sport dietitians in the country. He is one of the first Board Certified Specialists in Sports Dietetics and is a Sport Dietitian for the United States Olympic Committee where he provides nutrition expertise for Olympic athletes. He is also an exercise physiologist, a USA Triathlon Certified Elite Coach, a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a competitive triathlete and runner.
