Blood Orange Martini

A sweet and fresh Blood Orange Martini is the way grown ups drink their orange juice.   Blood Orange Martini

Blood Oranges are showing up in the produce section of my grocery store and I couldn’t resist picking up a few.  I peeled three of these maroon colored fruits to juice for cocktails and I saved the peels to make sugared orange candies.  Recipe for candies next week.

A blood orange is a variety of orange with crimson flesh.  The red pigment is an antioxidant, so these oranges contain more antioxidants than other oranges.  Their flavor is a little raspberry-like and is perfect for cocktails.  Paired with Campari this cocktail is a little bitter so should be perfect for those that don’t like a sweet martini.

Blood Orange MartiniWishing you…
Peace, Good times, Good health
and Happiness…
on Easter or Passover
