Mandarin Banana Ginger Smoothie is loaded with antioxidant, vitamin C to help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.
The flu is making a run through Cincinnati and several of my friends have gotten taken down by this year’s influenza.
This Mandarin Banana Ginger smoothie is great for in between meals as a pick me up, but it is also loaded with Vitamin C, A, Potassium and healthy fat which helps our bodies boost up its immune systems. Â Also, the ginger in this smoothie offers a bonus because it has historically been known to be very effective in alleviating symptoms of gastrointestinal distress. Â Ginger has also been studied for use as a muscle pain reliever and to help with arthritis pain, so this smoothie would be great after an intense muscle workout.
Now that I have told you how wonderful this smoothie is, let me tell you that typically I am not a huge fan of the taste of ginger, but in this smoothie it was delicious. Â Adapt the amount added based on your like of ginger. Â I added a bit less than 1/2 teaspoon for myself.
Because this root offers so many health benefits I try to add it into my weekly diet where I can. Â A little goes a long way with ginger, so grab a root in your local grocery store and store it in the refrigerator to pull out and use in your seafood, soups, smoothies and teas. Â To use ginger, use the end of a spoon and scrape off the skin of the area you plan on using. Â Then cut and slice or grate the ginger.
