Well, and food.  Us Americans, we love our food, and boy do we like to get together on the 4th of July and eat.

Equipment

  • Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 small seedless ripe watermelon cut into 1"cubes
  • 6 ounces of Feta cheese cut into 1” cubes
  • Fresh Ripe Firm Blackberries
  • Small wooden skewers

Instructions

  • Skewer watermelon chunks, feta and blackberry.
  • Place on serving platter and store in refrigerator until ready to serve

  1. For watermelon skewers, All feta is not the made the same. We tried a Bulgarian goat & it crumbled. Would recommend a double cream

    1. Hi Kelley, Raspberries are a little too soft. You could go with blueberries, or peach slices would work nicely.

    Oh, what a refreshing appetizer for a summer party. With all of the balsamic and oil olive stores opening, I’m sure a sweet balsamic drizzle would go perfectly with these skewers. Thank you for sharing a healthy option for summer picnics.

    1. I almost made this recipe with a balsamic glaze, but decided against it at the last minute. I am sure it would be perfect on these skewers.

    I love these little bites! I make something similar with mango instead of watermelon and they are my favorite little snacks for summer parties. I need to try the watermelon next time for a refreshing treat!

    1. Thanks Ashley, I was just looking at the mangos at the store today. I need to bring some home and do some experimenting while they are in season.
