5 Tips to a Healthy Digestive System so you can lead a healthy and happy life.

Your lifestyle choices affect how your body runs. Your diet, if you exercise, drink enough water, are stressed all day or take a probiotic are all contributors to your digestive health.

5 tips for your digestive health1. Eating a clean diet:

Eating a high fiber diet is key to a healthy digestion system. Vegetables, fruits, and more vegetables are the key to a body running efficiently. That is why you should eat them at every meal. They are high in fiber and loaded with vitamins and minerals to not only keep your body strong and healthy, but they help your body clean out all the bad stuff. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, and it also helps to clean up your intestines as it passes through. Scraping and pushing all the stuff that got left behind from that high-fat meal you ate. Think of eating that apple as a daily oil change for your pipes.

If you are going to start ramping up the veggies, take it slow. I don’t want you to go from 0 to 100 on the fiber scale; all that extra fiber could cause a little (cough-cough) gassiness.

2. Exercise:

Movement is key. A sedentary lifestyle encourages a sedentary digestive track. If you are sitting all day long, not only is your digestive track stay pinched but also it will slow down to reflect your activity level.

Walking after eating encourages your digestive track to get the move on too. Pushing your food through soon after eating is a good thing. Plus standing up after eating allows all your organs plenty of space to get things done.

3. Hydrate:

Drinking plenty of water is good for your digestive health. Water in your digestive system helps dissolve fats and soluble fiber, allowing these substances to pass through more easily.

4. Reduce stress

Stress is not only exhausting and damaging to your mental health but your physical health. Stress affects your central nervous system. Basically, your fight or flight response goes wonky when you are stressed. This can cause your digestion system to shut down. Not good if you got a belly full of food. Remember you want that food out ASAP you want your body to receive the food, break down the food, and process the food, sending it where it needs to go. If you are all stressed out. Your food could get stuck in the middle. Nobody wants that, think constipation or diarrhea.

5. Take Probiotics:

Probiotics are the healthy bacteria naturally present in your digestive tract. They help keep the body healthy by combating poor food choices that winter antibiotics, and all that stress you may be under. In addition, robotics can enhance nutrient absorption, help break down lactose, strengthen your immune system, and possibly even help treat irritable bowel syndrome. Try to eat a low-fat yogurt or kefir, on a daily basis and take Probiotics.
