This Pumpkin Banana Vanilla Smoothie is so good you will even want it for your dessert. and hey you can have it for dessert, or breakfast or before your workout or after, or whenever.
A half a cup of canned pumpkin has 3.5 grams of fiber and 1.5 grams of protein— even more than the fresh stuff— and contains only 45 calories and less than a gram of fat. Plus, canned pumpkin is packed with vitamins and provides over 50 percent of the daily value of vitamin K, which may reduce the risk for some types of cancer, and don’t forget the potassium.  Add in your banana which adds in even another source of potassium, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.  Potassium is also great for our muscles.
This smoothie delivers you a delicious, fall pumpkin flavor packed beverage that also full of heart-healthy vitamin rich protein and helpful potassium for our muscles.  Great for your after workout picks me up or it’s filling enough as a morning superfood breakfast.  Of course, just another great way to enjoy that fall pumpkin flavor.

Totally wishing I had this for breakfast right now – love that the banana probably makes it nice and thick. 🙂
The banana and pumpkin combo gives the smoothie a nice thick texture similar to a milkshake.
This sounds so perfect for breakfast, all fall long!
Thanks Christina.
Love the addition of pumpkin to the smoothie. Sounds like a secretly healthy treat for sure!
Thanks Meg!
I made this today with a frozen banana and then put it in the freezer. So delicious as an icy treat 🙂 Thank you for the recipe!
I am so happy you liked it. I love it in the fall after my workouts!
I can’t wait to try this! I recently made a pumpkin smoothie but it wasn’t sweet enough for my taste. I think the addition of banana is the key! Thanks for the great recipe. Sounds like the perfect wintertime beverage. Yum!
Allison, You will love it with the banana, it adds the sweetness and creaminess you need with the pumpkin. Hope you have a wonderful New Years! Amy
Actually, what people need to do is to *stop* making smoothies. Good grief, it is wintertime, Ohio, and 2013 — not summer, California, 1983.
This is impossibly delicious!
Lyrique, Glad you like!! xo
I have all of this in my fridge/pantry right now! Looks like I’ll be making this for my breakfast smoothie tomorrow!
This recipe looks amazing … I can’t wait to try it! Bren
Thanks Bren, I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for a great breakfast idea, my regular breakfast smoothie was getting a little stale. I didn’t have vanilla protein powder so I had to substitute chocolate and it’s still good although, I think vanilla would be better. I’m enjoying it right now. YUM!
Hey Gretchen,
If you make it again with chocolate, substitute a tablespoon coconut oil for the almonds and the coconut chocolate combo will be delicious!
