Football season is here! Â That means tailgating with friends, eating and drinking great food, and playing corn hole. Â You know what corn hole is, right? Â It’s not just a Cincinnati thing is it?
Whether you are tailgating or enjoying the game from your couch you will need a great slider recipe to help you cheer your team to victory. Â This is a bold flavored slider, that is healthy and lean. Â Topped with a homemade spicy mayonnaide. Â While you will feel like you are being bad eating this burger, you couldn’t be more wrong. Â The burger is made with lean turkey and chorizo sausage. Â A little spice and a lot of flavor.

Turkey Chorizo Sliders
Ingredients
Homemade Mayonnaise:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
- 1 large lemon juiced {4 teaspoons}
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup of olive oil
- 1 jalapeno trimmed and seeded cut into chunks {leave seeds if you want mayo spicy}
- 1/4 cup bunch of fresh cilantro
Sliders:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 pound ground chorizo
- Pinch of slat
- Pinch of ground black pepper
- 12 Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls
Toppings:
- Tomato slices
- Lettuce pieces
- Jalapeno sliced
Instructions
Homemade Mayonnaise:
- In a blender add egg yolk, dijon mustard, lemon juice, and salt.
- Start blender. Through tube slowly in a very small stream {very small stream} add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil at a time. Let blender run and then continue adding olive a little at a tie and VERY slowly. This can take up to 8 minutes.
- When your mayonnaise has come together, add jalapeno and cilantro and blend.
- You can store this in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Sliders:
- In a large bowl add turkey, chorizo, salt and pepper. Using hands mash together.
- Form into 2 1/2"-3" patties.
- Set aside.
- Heat grill to medium high heat.
- Add burgers, close grill and cook 4-5 minutes, flip and cook an additional 4-5 minutes.
- Lower heat to low and cook for 4-5 minutes more depending on the thickness of burger. You want internal temperature to be 165°
- Remove from grill, place on bun and top with desired toppings and dollop of homemade mayonnaise.
- Serve and Enjoy
