Are you ready to #MakeYourMove to ensure you have everything you need ahead of time to sip your way to healthy goodness? The next step to adopt on your road to health and happiness is making your daily smoothies ahead of time. Prepping your smoothies shaves off precious extra minutes in your morning routine, plus it puts the kibosh on any other excuses that stand in the way of you sipping on some healthy goodness.
Let’s face most of the time we don’t eat healthy is because of time. Tick-Tock!
Just a bit of prep one day a week will ensure old Mr. Time is no longer your enemy and you have what you need on hand quickly and easily with the help of a little strategy and proper materials.
Kohl’s has everything you need to get your Smoothie Prep on! So Make Your Move and get started on ensure you are as healthy and happy as you can be.
Step 1: Have your ingredients and supplies ready.
-Here is what you will need:
-Blender. I used theNinja BL660 Professional Blender : to make my smoothie, which is the perfect size and power for any home cook.
-Recipe cards
Recipes used in this post
- Blueberry Avocado Spinach Smoothie
- Green Detox Smoothie
- Blackberry Chocolate Pistachio Smoothie
- Beet Blackberry Apple Smoothie
-Measuring spoons and cups
-Ingredients for recipe
-Make sure all your fruit and vegetables have been washed and dried
Step 2: Slice, cut, core your vegetables and fruits as necessary
-If you are preparing multiple recipes cut fruit as you go. Fruit can turn quickly so this will keep your ingredients as fresh as possible before being blended.
Step 3: Measure out ingredients for each smoothie and blend.
Step 4: Pour or spoon into muffin tin.
Step 5: Label as you go with ingredients so you know which recipe is in which tin. They can start to look similar.
Step 6: Place in freezer until frozen. 2-4 hours
Step 7: Once frozen, remove cups and place in ziplock bags separating into recipes. Label bags and place back into freezer until needed.
I place the bottom of the muffin tin in hot water for a minute or less to help loosen smoothie ingredients. Do not let water lap over edges onto ingredients. Only dip the bottom into the water.
Tips: Defrost smoothie in fridge the night before you are ready to use. Some separation might occur, but the smoothies will still be fine to consume
Smoothie packs will keep for several months in the freezer but are the very best quality when used within 2-4 weeks.
Try to store smoothie packs away from foods with strong odors.
That is it, add your smoothie packs to your blender, additional ingredients if needed, drink, and enjoy all that healthy goodness.
Prepping my smoothies in advance really does help me save time in the morning. I love not having to think about cutting up fruit or accidentally running out of smoothie ingredients. I love pulling out my fresh ingredients, blender and recipe cards to work on prepping smoothies for the week (or month!) and the best part is that it only takes a few minutes to do.
I hope you use these tips to help you #MakeYourMove to a healthier you. Don’t forget to head to Kohl’s to get everything you need to make awsome smoothies everytime.
